I was delighted to attend the British Curry Life Chef awards 2011 last evening. It was wonderful to celebrate one of our most important institutions and a staple of every British city. Even in these difficult economic times, the industry is flourishing, and rightly so.
I made a short speech in which I explained how important curry is to our country and culture. I was asked to present the awards along with colleagues Frank Dobson, who is also my local MP, Tracey Crouch MP, and the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Eric Pickles.
It was also to catch up with my friend and former MEP Robert Evans.
More (professional images) of the evening to come. Thank you to Syed Pasha and Parvez Ahmed for their involvement in a wonderful evening. Their hard work, along with their colleagues made the evening a great success.
