Large companies in the UK are given, thanks to unlimited immigration from the EU, a large pool of workers who will work for the lowest wages and will tolerate poor treatment because jobs are scarce. The EU also helps big business by giving it great advantages over small business. Financial resources and economies of scale make compliance with regulation relatively easy for very large companies but small companies are destroyed by it. They can’t afford teams of compliance officers or lobbyists in Brussels and so small businesses are taken over by larger ones. Global business and the political class are now practically the same thing.
