Someone has defined “culture” as “the status quo”.
As in the case of female genital mutilation, the “culture” excuse is predictably invoked to justify letting misogynist practices continue. MEP Honeyball is to be commended for acting on the understanding that women must unite to demand an end to such victimization of girls and women.
