The problem with the Eurozone is that the entrance criteria were fudged for political reasons to allow weak, unfit economies (Greece included) to join. As with so much of the EU, one size patently doesn’t fit all.

Lots of circular argument here, but what is the solution apart from allowing Greece to devalue?

The right will often offer nationalist objections, while the left will point out the neo-colonial and neo-liberal stance of the Euro-establishment.

To my mind, privatisation measures are an example of ‘internal neo-colonialism’.
