I can’t really go along with the idea that Douglas Carswell is a Eurosceptic. Yes, he says that he is and he makes EUsceptic noises but in my view he does not qualify because he actually enables further EU integration by giving Tory voters a false sense that his party will stand up to the EU. They are then more likely to vote for the Conservatives believing it to be a EUsceptical party when it is of course, a completely Europhile organisation.
