Launch of Labour LGBT Campaign in Soho

Yesterday evening I was very pleased to attend the launch of the Labour LBGT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi and Transsexual) manifesto in London’s Soho.

Following a walk about during which we distributed leaflets, the manifesto was introduced by our Deputy Leader Harriet Harman.  Harriet, as we all know, has a record second to none on equalities issues.  She has supported the LBGT community for very many years and was therefore the obvious choice for yesterday’s event.

Chris Bryant, an openly gay MP who has campaigned for gay rights for a considerable time, also spoke.

Both Chris and Harriet are passionate about equality and human rights for all.  It’s a shame that the same can’t be said about the Tories whose views were so graphically exposed by Chris Grayling.  Once again it’s Labour supporting you while the Tories let crude bigotry and blind prejudice inform their policies.
