Cyprus, Switzerland and China

Yesterday turned out to be a very busy day, taking in Cyprus, Switzerland and China.  Andrew Dismore MP talked to me about next weeks Friends of Cyprus delegation and their visit to Cyprus, which I unfortunately can’t make due to commitments in Brussels. I am sure they will have a productive few days on the island and I look forward to reading Andrew’s report.

Peter Mandelson’s speech was excellent, quite the best I have heard him speak. I was interviewed quite randomly for Swiss Radio in French (!!) as I came out of the conference hall after hearing Peter.

Shortly after I looked around the exhibition stalls, ending up at the Chinese for Labour stand, stopping for a cup of tea with old friend Mee Ling Ng, who has, incidentally, received the OBE for services to the Chinese community. We were lucky to get a photo with Sarah Brown as she toured the exhibition space.
