FGM is by far more henious and is a breech of our (womens) human rights. This just shows how ignorant we (the western world) are about such an issue. Its just sad.

The mutilation done to women is absolutely horrific, removing almost all the external genitalia in some cases. Women can, and do, die from severe bleeding and blood poisoning, to name but two causes of death. In addition, women are sometimes sewed back up causing all kinds of problems, especially in childbirth. It’s a horrible and barbaric custom which should be stopped.
