I am unsurprised at this story (CLICK HERE) in the Daily Mail and of course condemn his ignorant sexist attitudes out of hand.
- Councillor David Taylor put the topless calendar up at Nottingham County Council HQ for all to see.
What I am waiting for is the Leader of the Tory Group, Ken Clarke (a Nottinghamshire Tory MP), Teresa May or whoever pretends to look out for women in the Tories to say “boo to a bigot.”
I think the bigots here are the feminists who object to a calender that merely shows attractive young ladies. You are curtailing free speech, like the European Parliament on the pro choice smoking group TICAP.
I also had an opportunity to put your point about Godfrey “appalling” Bloom to him personally while I while I was in Brussels. In context he was asking for equal respect for women who are happy to be a housewife, they are just as worthy of our respect as femininazis and raised Dutch embankments.
They are just pictures of naked girls. You see a naked woman every day when you have a bath / shower. Are you that insecure about yourself that you have to attack people who just happen to like looking at naked pictures. I think you need to help sort out the state of the country instead of wasting time on other peoples PRIVATE pleasures!
He should stick up a calendar of topless men (preferably over 50). Might cheer up the women in NCC – it will at least make them smile.
As if he had a chance with any such woman! He’s almost as ugly as me. I’d say the calendar was pure wishful thinking on his part.
But bigoted? I fail to see how. Sexist, maybe, but aren’t we all, of both genders, guilty of that to some degree?
Have you never lusted after some movie star or bare-chested muscleman or whatever it is that you like? I still carry a torch for Kate Bush myself but then I’m still older than her.
We all have fantasies, we all have objects of desire. I wouldn’t have the nerve to put pictures of Kate Bush up where others could deride me for them, but would it really be so offensive if I did? If i did, I suspect the only one humiliated would be me.
I might be called sexist for it. But bigoted? Is ‘bigot’ still such a knee-jerk response these days?
