I believe the party&#039;s leadership to be essentially pro-EU but in order to placate the the anti-EU factions on the back benches and among local activists, they have had to create nonesensical slogans like &#039;At the heart of Europe but not run by Europe&#039;, etc.  
Hoping to change bits and pieces of the EU Constitution/Lisbon Treaty is, as you state, not a credible plan and the only way of avoiding the implications of the EU Constitution/Lisbon Treaty is through a UK withdrawal from the EU.]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[Mary, you seem to have forgotten that in the 80s our US overlords were using us as a platform for a first strike against the Soviet Union.  Our comparatively puny nuclear force was part of their arsenal and was never going to be used without their aid and consent.

I seem to remember that governments elected by proportional representation was a basic requirement for membership of Europe, and here we are 50 years later... 

You buzz a few days ago made it clear the EU Treaty was not re-negotiable.]]></description>
